Rather than observe National Workplace Wellness Week, national observances coming up in May will be recognized instead, several of the members of the Wellness Manager Discussion Group said.
“We are putting all our efforts towards May considering the following
observances: National Employee Health and Fitness Month, Exercise is Medicine Month, National Bike to Work Week, and, Hospital Week,”
said a member who is coordinator of a community wellness program.
And another member said “We are also focusing on May. Our company is launching a Health and Wellness program as EMS week is in May.”
“We are focusing on May as well for National Employee health and fitness month,” another member told us.
“Our worksite wellness committee is fairly new and this is our second big event and kick off to highlight other ongoing events, so we will be doing a big walking challenge and hope we get LOTS of employees to sign up,” she said.
A wellness administrator told us that they too are going to be “doing walks at our locations this week but it has more to do the American Heart Association’s National Start! Walking Day rather than National Worksite Wellness Week.”
“Like other replies,” she continued, “Our efforts are centered on May
National Physical Fitness Month and NEHFD.”
